The Perpetual Friendship
The Perpetual Friendship is an ambitious Initiative produced by Reprezent Project in partnership with the Portuguese Association of Urban Art and the Out There Festival.
We have successfully delivered the proposed original aims of The Perpetual Friendship, launching an urban arts zone on Great Yarmouth Seafront as part of Out There Festival of International Circus and Street Arts 2018.
This international collaboration between Reprezent, Local artists in Great Yarmouth and the Portuguese Association of Urban Arts (APAURB) saw the commissioning of a Giant interactive public art installation in the shape of fish made out of 1232 wooden pallets exploring environmental issues, seafaring and fishing traditions of the UK and Portugal, and a giant painting jam to celebrate the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance, provoking dialogue and interaction between cultures.
We also created a social lounge area made out of 150 pallets and a mobile skate park made out of 25 pallets. The area included opportunities for cultural exchange with activities such as live Graffiti, Portuguese traditional food, DJing, live music performances and participatory family workshops including stencil making, painting and upcycling old vinyl into paintings.
